When Cadbury sponsored Coronation Street

I’ve never been a massive fan of Coronation Street but like a lot of people I have dipped in and out down the years. One thing that I did always like was the old Cadbury sponsorship films. I mean look at all that chocolate what’s not to love?

Cadbury were the first sponsor for the programme which at that time had been on the air for four decades. The films were different and there seemed to be a big variety but like I say I wasnt a regular viewer.

Sadly none of the scenes were made from chocolate but instead made from plasticine by Wallace and Gromit makers, Aardman. When I visited Cadbury World the model of the street was on display.

Thesedays less effort is put into sponsorship adverts and the variety is usually much reduced but the last time I saw an episode Corrie was sponsored by Compare the Market and featured Alexander, Sergey and the others from the adverts.
